IS HOTMAIL YET A THING?

Well, guess this one is up for debate. Hotmail that name isn't as popular as it back in the day. It {gottaken over Microsoft long ago, and now it's part of their suite of email {services|. That means you can still use Hotmail accounts, but they're more like something from the past. Most people these days are other options like Outlook or Gmail.
